Upper Westside Protected Bays

Napili, Kapalua, Honolua
  • Small Surf, Light winds make for calm water conditions. Winds have shifted out of the south but we should have some shelter up here. Light rain last night but no signals of runoff creating significant water clarity issues. Conditions will vary amongst bays. The upper bays may have the best conditions today.
  • Check out this webcam from Napili Sunset.
  • Surf 1-3ft at around the North most side of the island.
  • Conditions may vary amongst the different bays.
  • Isolated showers after noon. Mostly sunny, with a high near 79. Breezy, with a southwest wind 8 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Ka'anapali Beach

Sheraton Black Rock, Airport-Kahekili Beach
  • Small surf but southwest winds are creating a bit of water chop. Get out early as winds are predicted to pick up as the day progresses.
  • Check out the Sheraton resorts and Whaler Condo webcams.
  • Surf 1-2ft.
  • Turtles as usual. Don’t forget they are protected so give them space but enjoy.
  • S wind 9 to 13 kt. Isolated showers after noon. . Waves 1 ft or less.

Black Rock, Kahekili-Airport Beach
  • Winds have shifted to the Southwest. MM14 may experience choppy water conditions. Get out early as winds are predicted to pick up as the day progresses.
  • Don’t get your car stuck in the sand and be sure to park completely off the highway!
  • Surf 1-3ft.
  • Turtles! They are protected so give them space but enjoy.
  • SE wind 5 to 10 kt becoming SSW in the afternoon. Mostly sunny. . Waves 1 ft or less.

  • Small surf swell conditions however winds have shifted to the southwest creating choppy water conditions. Conditions may vary significantly amongst snorkel areas. Get out early as winds are predicted to pick up as the day progresses. Further south may present better snorkeling opportunities.

  • South Kihei road is closed for a short bit in North Kihei. Take the highway to Piikea if your heading south to avoid the closure.
