Upper West Beach Bays

  • Webcams: Napili Sunset, Napili Kai
  • Surf: 2-3ft
  • Weather: Scattered showers, mainly before noon. Partly sunny, with a high near 80. Breezy, with an east northeast wind 11 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 18 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Honolua Bay

Honolua Map
  • Overall Conditions: Similar to north bays, Inside the bay may be nice today. Small north swell conditions are persisting. Watch for surge along the rocks and decreased water visibility. Light winds this morning.
  • Surf: 2-3ft.
  • Weather: Similar to North Bays.
  • Notes: Rocky shoreline sheltered bay. Use the Honolua Lookout before the bay to check conditions.  The water should be blue and you should be able to see the reef.  If the water looks “milky” or green the snorkeling will not be good.  If there are surfers on the north side of the bay the snorkeling conditions are probably poor or even dangerous.  If it has been raining the river empties brown, muddy water into the bay and you should definitely stay out of the water.

Ka'anapali Beach

Sheraton Black Rock, Airport-Kahekili Beach
  • Overall Conditions: Small north and south swell conditions are persisting but the south is pretty small. Looks pretty nice in Kaanapali this morning. Again, watch for surge along Black Rock and decreased water clarity. Calm winds this morning.
  • Webcam: . Sheraton.
  • Surf: 2-3 ft.
  • Weather: Isolated showers after noon. Mostly sunny, with a high near 85. Northeast wind around 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
  • Notes: Don’t snorkel directly under Black Rock, you don’t want to get jumped on. Turtles as usual. Don’t forget they are protected so give them space but enjoy. If you venture around Black Rock stay close to shore. Watch for surge along the rocks.

Olowalu Mile Marker 14

Olowalu Beach
  • Overall Conditions:  South swell conditions still present but are small. Decreased water clarity may still be present.
  • Weather: Similar to South Maui.
  • Notes: Give the turtles some space and don’t get your car stuck in the sand.  There is a sand channel that goes through the reef across the highway from the Mile Marker 14 post that is the easiest place to swim out.
