Upper Westside Protected Bays

Napili, Kapalua, Honolua
  • Overall Conditions: Small surf. Strong trade winds. Stick to the northern ends of the bays in the sheltered areas. Stay close to shore and watch for surge along the rocks. Still looks like a nice day in the bays.
  • Webcams: Napili Kai.
  • Surf: 1-2ft.
  • Weather:
    ENE wind around 21 kt, with gusts as high as 27 kt. Scattered showers before 8am. Mixed swell…W 2 ft at 16 seconds and NNW 1 ft at 11 seconds. Waves around 6 ft.

  • Overall Conditions: Very similar to yesterday except the winds are a bit stronger than yesterday. Very small wave action has Kaanapali looking very nice this morning.  Looks like a beautiful day.

  • Surf: 1-2ft.

    ENE wind around 21 kt, with gusts as high as 27 kt. Scattered showers before 8am. Mixed swell…W 2 ft at 16 seconds and NNW 1 ft at 11 seconds. Waves around 6 ft.
  • Notes: Don’t snorkel directly under Black Rock, you don’t want to get jumped on. Turtles as usual. Don’t forget they are protected so give them space but enjoy. If you venture around Black Rock stay close to shore. Watch for surge along the rocks.

  • Overall Conditions: Very light winds. Surf has increased a bit.
  • Weather: ENE wind 10 to 12 kt. Sunny. S swell 2 ft at 15 seconds. Waves 1 ft or less.
  • Surf: 2-3ft
  • Notes: Give the turtles some space and don’t get your car stuck in the sand.
