Upper Westside Protected Bays

Napili, Kapalua, Honolua
  • Thank god those strong winds have backed down.  Surf has also decreased but a small waves are still present.  The north ends of the bays should also offer some shelter from the winds. Honolua Bay will be the most sheltered area however waves may be a factor. Decreased water clarity at the beach locations.
  • Check out this webcam from Napili Sunset.
  • Surf 2-3 ft.
  • Conditions may vary amongst the different bays.
  • Scattered showers, mainly after noon. Mostly sunny, with a high near 78. Windy, with an east northeast wind around 25 mph, with gusts as high as 49 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Sheraton Black Rock, Airport-Kahekili Beach
  • Same as yesterday. Blustery winds, small surf. Inside black rock should be mostly sheltered from the wind. Watch for surge along the rocks. Be aware of the wind if you venture around the backside of Black Rock.

  • Surf 1-3ft.
  • Turtles as usual. Don’t forget they are protected so give them space but enjoy.
  • ENE wind 14 to 18 kt, with gusts as high as 43 kt. Sunny. . Waves 1 ft or less.

  • Small surf, watch for strong winds. Decreased water clarity due to wave activity over the past few days.
  • Don’t get your car stuck in the sand and be sure to park completely off the highway!
  • Surf 1-2ft.
  • Turtles! They are protected so give them space but enjoy.
  • ENE wind 9 to 11 kt. Sunny. . Waves 1 ft or less.

  • Small surf, calm winds this morning. As usual get out early before the winds fill in down south. Decreased water clarity at the beach locations however it should be improved over the past few days. Ahihi Kinau should be nice.
