How Long Does It Take To Bike Around West Maui?
It takes about three hours to bike around the West Maui Loop if you aren’t stopping for photos or taking breaks. It’s best to get an early start though. Think around six in the morning! This way, when it gets hot during the day (which can happen anywhere from nine until two), you won’t be tempted to stop riding and instead make sure that every minute counts.
When starting at our Lahaina location you don’t end up getting back there until around seven-thirty. This is a wonderful opportunity to catch a gorgeous sunset.
The Best Time Of Year To Bike The West Maui Loop
The best times of year to go biking around West Maui are from September until May. This is because the weather during this time isn’t as hot and humid, making it much more bearable for those who aren’t used to heat-related activities! The only downside is that there can be a lot of rain at any point in time during these months so if you want to avoid getting caught up in some showers, then try taking your journey between June through August instead.
Tips For Bike Touring Around West Maui
There are many different places that you’ll want to visit while biking Maui including some historic sites, the oceanfront views of Kanaha Beach Park, and Kealia Pond National Wildlife Refuge.
- Wear sunscreen even if it’s cloudy out since you’ll be exposed to the sun nearly the entire time while riding around West Maui. This is especially important when biking early in the morning or late into the evening hours during the summertime months.
- Pack some snacks and water bottles that will keep you energized along your ride so that you won’t have to take any breaks from all of the excitement!
