Honolua Bay

Honolua Map
  • Overall Conditions: A little runoff coming down with the valley this morning from last nights rain. Should clear up this morning if it doesn’t rain more.
  • Surf: 1-3ft. morning 2-4ft in the afternoon
  • Weather: Similar to Upper West Bays
  • Notes: Rocky shoreline sheltered bay. Use the Honolua Lookout before the bay to check conditions.  The water should be blue and you should be able to see the reef.  If the water looks “milky” or green the snorkeling will not be good.  If there are surfers on the north side of the bay the snorkeling conditions are probably poor or even dangerous.  If it has been raining the river empties brown, muddy water into the bay and you should definitely stay out of the water.

Ka'anapali Beach

Sheraton Black Rock, Airport-Kahekili Beach
  • Overall Conditions: Black Rock looks nice this morning. Wind will be picking up this afternoon.
  • Webcam: Whaler Condos Sheraton
  • Surf: 1-2 ft.
  • Weather: Isolated showers. Mostly sunny, with a high near 84. Breezy, with an east northeast wind 11 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
  • Notes: Don’t snorkel directly under Black Rock, you don’t want to get jumped on. Turtles as usual. Don’t forget they are protected so give them space but enjoy. If you venture around Black Rock stay close to shore. Watch for surge along the rocks.

Olowalu Mile Marker 14

Black Rock, Kahekili-Airport Beach
  • Overall Conditions: South swell is fading so the waves in the area are getting smaller. Visibility is improved over the last few days.
  • Weather: Sunny, with a high near 82. Breezy, with a northeast wind 13 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph.
  • Notes: Give the turtles some space and don’t get your car stuck in the sand.  There is a sand channel that goes through the reef across the highway from the Mile Marker 14 post that is the easiest place to swim out.
