Honolua Bay

Honolua Map
  • Overall Conditions: Visibility looks good early today in the bay. Some smaller waves coming later so take care getting in and out along the rocks.
  • Surf: 1-3ft.
  • Weather: Scattered showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 78. Breezy, with an east wind 13 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
  • Notes: Rocky shoreline sheltered bay. Use the Honolua Lookout before the bay to check conditions.  The water should be blue and you should be able to see the reef.  If the water looks “milky” or green the snorkeling will not be good.  If there are surfers on the north side of the bay the snorkeling conditions are probably poor or even dangerous.  If it has been raining the river empties brown, muddy water into the bay and you should definitely stay out of the water.

Ka'anapali Beach

Sheraton Black Rock, Airport-Kahekili Beach
  • Overall Conditions: Lower surf early and calm wind today. Looks like a beautiful day in Ka’anapali.
  • Webcam: Whaler Condos Sheraton
  • Surf: 0-2 ft.
  • Weather: Partly sunny, with a high near 82. Calm wind becoming southeast 5 to 8 mph in the afternoon.
  • Notes: Don’t snorkel directly under Black Rock, you don’t want to get jumped on. Turtles as usual. Don’t forget they are protected so give them space but enjoy. If you venture around Black Rock stay close to shore. Watch for surge along the rocks.

Olowalu Mile Marker 14

Black Rock, Kahekili-Airport Beach
  • Overall Conditions: Very calm and clear in this area today. Looks beautiful out there.
  • Weather: Partly sunny, with a high near 80. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph.
  • Notes: Give the turtles some space and don’t get your car stuck in the sand.  There is a sand channel that goes through the reef across the highway from the Mile Marker 14 post that is the easiest place to swim out.
