Upper Westside Protected Bays

Napili, Kapalua, Honolua
  • Overall Conditions:  Same as yesterday.  Early morning rains. Brisk winds, very small surf. The northern ends of the bays may off offer protection from the wind.
  • Surf: 1-2ft.
  • Weather:
    Isolated showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 84. Windy, with an east wind 18 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 32 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

    Notes: Conditions amongst the bays can vary significantly.

  • Overall Conditions:  Same as yesterday.  Early morning rain. Brisk winds, very small surf. Small surf has been consistent which makes for nice snorkeling at the bay. Please be sure to stay off the reef.
  • Surf: 1-2ft.
  • Weather:
    Isolated showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 84. Windy, with an east wind 18 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 32 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

    Notes: Rocky shore sheltered bay. Conditions amongst the bays can vary significantly.

  • Overall Conditions: South swell has continued to dissipate. Light winds with small surf makes for a nice day in Kaanapali.
  • Webcam: Whaler Condo. Sheraton.
  • Surf: 1-2ft.
  • Weather:
    ENE wind 8 to 18 kt. Isolated showers before noon. N swell 0 ft at 0 seconds. Waves 1 ft or less.
  • Notes: Don’t snorkel directly under Black Rock, you don’t want to get jumped on. Turtles as usual. Don’t forget they are protected so give them space but enjoy. If you venture around Black Rock stay close to shore. Watch for surge along the rocks.

  • Overall Conditions:  Light to moderate winds. The south swell has dissipated. It may be nice today.
  • Weather: ENE wind 10 to 15 kt becoming variable and less than 5 kt in the afternoon. Mostly sunny. N swell 0 ft at 0 seconds. Waves 1 ft or less.
  • Surf: 2-3ft
  • Notes: Give the turtles some space and don’t get your car stuck in the sand.

  • Overall Conditions:  South swell has continued to dissipate. Small surf with light winds makes for the best conditions we have seen in weeks. Get out there!

  • Surf: 2-3ft.
  • Weather: Increasing clouds, with a high near 88. Breezy, with a light and variable wind becoming north northeast 13 to 18 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 23 mph.
  • Notes: Winds may fill in later, always best to get out early.
