Honolua Bay

Honolua Map
  • Overall Conditions: Similar to the north bays. Calm winds, increased surf. Inside the bay may be decent however watch for surgy conditions.
  • Surf: 2-3ft.
  • Weather: Isolated showers. Mostly sunny, with a high near 87. Breezy, with an east wind 8 to 17 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
  • Notes: Rocky shoreline sheltered bay. Use the Honolua Lookout before the bay to check conditions.  The water should be blue and you should be able to see the reef.  If the water looks “milky” or green the snorkeling will not be good.  If there are surfers on the north side of the bay the snorkeling conditions are probably poor or even dangerous.  If it has been raining the river empties brown, muddy water into the bay and you should definitely stay out of the water.
