3Honolua Bay
Honolua Map- Overall Conditions: Calm winds. Larger surf coming in today. Go to Olowalu or south Maui for better conditions.
- Surf: 4-5 ft.
- Weather: Similar to North Bays
-
Notes: Rocky shoreline sheltered bay. Use the Honolua Lookout before the bay to check conditions. The water should be blue and you should be able to see the reef. If the water looks “milky” or green the snorkeling will not be good. If there are surfers on the north side of the bay the snorkeling conditions are probably poor or even dangerous. If it has been raining the river empties brown, muddy water into the bay and you should definitely stay out of the water.

- Weather: Mostly sunny, with a high near 78. Light east northeast wind becoming north northeast 6 to 11 mph in the afternoon.
- Notes: Don’t snorkel directly under Black Rock, you don’t want to get jumped on. Turtles as usual. Don’t forget they are protected so give them space but enjoy. If you venture around Black Rock stay close to shore. Watch for surge along the rocks.

4Olowalu Mile Marker 14
Black Rock, Kahekili-Airport Beach- Overall Conditions: Calm winds. Small surf. May be nice here but watch for decreased water clarity due to rain runoff.
- Weather: Sunny, with a high near 78. Northeast wind 7 to 11 mph.
- Notes: Give the turtles some space and don’t get your car stuck in the sand. There is a sand channel that goes through the reef across the highway from the Mile Marker 14 post that is the easiest place to swim out.
